a trip to la la land
I spent my senior spring break in beautiful Los Angeles with my family! We had a fun-filled five days and got to soak up some much-needed sun and greenery.
We arrived at our condo in Venice Beach on Monday evening. Our place was less than two blocks from the beach and the same distance from a street with tons of cute boutiques and coffee shops, so it was perfect! We had dinner at a local restaurant called Firehouse (not subs!) then explored the area. I tried some yummy non-dairy ice cream at Kippy's.
Tuesday morning we all woke up bright and early thanks to the time change and walked down to the beach because my brother was eager to hit the skate park. Later, my mom and I made the stroll to Santa Monica to do some shopping. I found my prom dress at Nordstrom-- I can't wait to wear it! I also picked up some good Topshop and Brandy Melville pieces. We went to Sushi King for dinner. It's a low-key spot we've returned to on multiple trips, and they have the best sushi I've ever tasted! It was a rainy and overcast day, so I didn't get many pictures.
We started Wednesday morning by walking over to the Santa Monica Farmers Market and testing lots of fresh fruit. I got a bottle of wonderful blood orange juice. We drove up the Pacific Coast Highway to Malibu and took in the gorgeous scenery and fresh spring air.
Thursday we started off shopping (mostly admiring) around Melrose. I got to fall in love with clothes at Chloé, The Row, Marc Jacobs, Theory, and more. I also enjoyed checking out Bookmarc and all the gorgeous, colorful books there. I spent some good time picking out independent magazines at Skylight Books. We also visited the Griffith Observatory, which was spectacular itself, but also has amazing views of the city. We had to park a bit down the mountain, so it was a stunning hike on the way up.
We had a super chill day Friday since it was the last day of vacation and we were exhausted by our other activities. My mom and I shopped on Abbot-Kinney in Venice, and the boys hung out around the beach. We had some delicious last meals and celebrated the great week we'd had!
